The longest leap
« on: November 17, 2012, 04:09:13 PM »
Today is one more day clean, begins to feel as routine,
This no one had foreseen, every day is a leap,
I needed very much this change, for it was the best exchange,
Now that sobriety is not that strange, I may this life keep,
The order surely was tall; it was God's final call,
So I ought to give it all, even if the road is steep,
I have so much cleaning to do; I wait for life anew,
I wish the future I knew, for now I just have to sweep,
For some, simple drudgery, for me it's a discovery,
I love my recovery; it often goes very deep,
Easy does it, they say, you just don't use in any way,
And light will shine on every day, but pain you can't skip,
Accepting life's own terms is surely the longest leap,
But it is the only way we manage to our life keep.
