Staying Clean on the Outside

The link below will take you to NA's IP #23, and deals with the struggles of transitioning from a life in a hospital or institution to life when you get out:

Staying Clean on the Outside
"FAITH is when you have come to the edge of all the light that you know and are about to step off into the darkness of the unknown... Faith is knowing that one of two things will happen: There will be something solid to stand on or you will be taught how to fly."

Glad you are here Julie, keep hitting those meetings.
"In this program, the first thing we do is stop using drugs. At this point, we begin to feel the pain of living without drugs or anything to replace them. The pain forces us to seek a Power greater than ourselves that can relieve our obsession to use."

Did 2 years in prison because of my addiction and stayed clean for almost 3 years after I was released. Just a few months ago I threw all that sobriety away and relapsed on heroin. I haven't used in 6 days, thanks to suboxone. Just looking to share with people who have been through what I am enduring right now.

Been on suboxone 3 months. I did not think they had treatment for me that was not painful but this is working well. I go to meetings also, it helps. Good luck, i hope it works well for u also!! :)
